This small garden based in Wigan was in a truly dilapidated state and in need of a complete makeover from fencing inwards.
The brief on this project was to build a garden with a feel that is a cross between traditional and contemporary.
There was a very strict budget which determined the materials used. There was also the directive to make it low maintenance with an emphasis on paving but to avoid the area looking like a car park.
We decided to build a split level terrace garden with retaining wall, adjoining steps and incorporate raised planters constructed from sleepers.
After excavating the area to desired depths we replaced the old boundary with curve top fence panels. Installed footing for wall and steps, imported MOT for sub-base and cut sleepers to fit design. Tegula walling stacked ready to build wall.
